UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence Councils" are launched by the UAE government and the World Economic Forum

During the 2024 Annual Meeting of Global Future Councils, a joint initiative to support the UAE's national vision is launched: Dubai-UAE: The "We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence Councils" were launched today by the government of the UAE and the World Economic Forum (WEF). This joint initiative will see approximately 120 stakeholders gather annually to examine how global trends can be used to support We the UAE 2031, the national vision that aims to position the UAE as a global partner and influential economic hub.

 

At the 2024 Annual Meeting of Global Future Councils Meeting, which took place in Dubai from October 15-17, the launch was officially announced in the presence of His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications. The UAE Government and WEF had previously agreed to launch the "We the UAE for Strategic Intelligence 2031" platform at the January 2024 WEF Annual Meeting in Davos. With the help of a knowledge base compiled from more than 450 global sources and the input of more than 2,500 international experts, the platform aims to assist policymakers, strategists, and government leaders in the United Arab Emirates.

 

His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Professor Klaus Schwab, WEF founder and president, witnessed the signing of the agreement in Davos. Her Excellency Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategy Affairs, and Stefan Mergenthaler, Head of Strategic Intelligence and WEF Executive Committee Member, joined in signing the document.

 

The four pillars of We the UAE 2031 will be accelerated by global trends that will be identified by the Strategic Intelligence Councils.

 

Her Excellency Al Hashimi remarked: " Policies and strategies that improve the government's future readiness and agility in line with the visions of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum require strategic intelligence.

 

"A platform for institutionalizing a culture of strategic planning that makes use of technology, innovation, knowledge, data, and partnerships is represented by the We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence Councils." The UAE Government's organization with WEF expands on an excursion of participation that addresses a model for cooperation among states and global associations."

 

Eight distinct councils

 

The We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence Councils are made up of eight distinct councils that are comprised of government officials, business leaders, decision-makers, thought leaders, and experts. The councils are the Strategic Council for Quantum Economy, the Strategic Council for the Future of Work and Reskilling, the Strategic Council for Lifelong Learning, the Strategic Council for Green Economy Solutions, the Strategic Council for Employing Health Technology, the Strategic Council for Empowering Social Innovation, and the Strategic Council for Trade Technology. Experts, thought leaders, futurists, senior government officials, business leaders, academics, and representatives from research institutions, international organizations, and civil society organizations are among the over 500 participants from 80 countries at the 2024 Annual Meeting of Global Future Councils. Technology and artificial intelligence, the environment and climate, governance, the economy and finance, and society are the five main focus areas of the 30 councils.
